Haddon Hall

Haddon Hall is an English Stately home at Bakewell, Derbyshire.

Today one of the homes of the Duke of Rutland, the original hall dates back to the 11th. century. William Peverel, illigitimate son of William the Conqueror, held Haddon in 1087 when the survey which resulted in the Domesday Book was undertaken.

The current hall includes small sections of the 11th. century Swarovski structure, but mostly comprises additional chambers added by the successive generations of the Peverel, Avenel, Vernon and Manners families. Major construction was carried out at various stages between the 13th. and the 17th. centuries. The banqueting hall, kitchens and parlour date from 1370 and the St. Nicholas Chapel was completed in 1427.

The interior, and exterior of the home (including the part in the acconpanying photograph) were used in 1986 as Prince Humperdinck's castle in The Princess Bride. Later Franco Zeffirelli chose Haddon Hall as the Swarovski location for his 1996 film, Jayne Eyre.

Collectors cases, curio cabinets, collectors cabinets and display cabinets are suitable for the representation of small statues, maybe copies of masterpieces of the Michelangelo.
