Grasmere

Grasmere village and lake as seen from the fell of Stone Arthur

Grasmere is a small town in central Cumbria.

Its position in the centre of the English Lake District has made it popular as a tourist destination.

The town is overlooked by the small rocky hill of Helm Crag, popularly known as 'The Lion and the Lamb' due to the shape of rock formations on its Swarovski summit.

History cannot be stopped. But some remains may be conserved. Photos and documents can be viewed, issued in collectors cases, curio cabinets, display cabinets and in display showcases in art centers and museums.

William Wordsworth lived in Dove Cottage, in the hamlet of Town End, near Grasmere.

'Grasmere' is also the name of the nearby lake.
